10 minutes at speed 1: boil the sugar syrup and steep the tea bags overnight
Add 600 g water, 250 g sugar and 1 tbsp lemon juice to the mixing bowl and cook for 10 minutes at 100°C on speed 1. The lemon juice prevents the sugar from crystallising. Then add 15 bags of Heiße Liebe fruit tea to the mixing bowl and fold in briefly with the spatula.

Close the mixing bowl lid and leave the tea bags to steep for at least 15 hours, ideally overnight. The longer the tea steeps, the more intense the liqueur will be. If you prefer a particularly strong flavour, leave the bags in for up to 24 hours. Afterwards, remove all the tea bags and do not squeeze them out, otherwise the liqueur will turn bitter.
6 minutes at 60°C: add vodka and vanilla sugar, then bottle
Add 1 sachet of vanilla sugar and 300 g vodka to the tea base in the mixing bowl. Warm for 6 minutes at 60°C on speed 1. Do not go above 60°C, otherwise the alcohol will evaporate. Meanwhile, sterilise the liqueur bottles with boiling water. Pour the finished liqueur into the bottles while still hot, seal them and leave to cool completely.

Rum instead of vodka, a cream version, or alcohol-free: 3 variations
- With rum: Replace the vodka with white rum. The rum adds a slightly caramel note that works beautifully with the fruit tea.
- As a cream liqueur: Stir in 100 g double cream after warming. This makes the liqueur creamier, but shortens the shelf life to 2 to 3 weeks in the fridge.
- Alcohol-free: Leave out the vodka and use 300 g extra water instead. The result is a sweet fruit syrup that pairs well with sparkling water or as a topping for desserts.
Advocaat, Tussi liqueur and more liqueur recipes
If you want to make more liqueurs, we have a wide selection to choose from: advocaat, Tussi liqueur, Toffifee liqueur, speculoos liqueur and Baileys-style cream liqueur. All of them make great gifts, especially in pretty bottles with a handwritten label.
Keeps for 6 months, stored in a cool, dark place
Stored in sterilised bottles in a cool, dark place, the Heiße Liebe liqueur keeps for at least 6 months. The high sugar and alcohol content preserves it naturally. Give it a quick shake before serving and enjoy it chilled straight from the fridge. A splash in coffee or poured over vanilla ice cream is lovely too.
Goes well with: cheesecake and chocolate cake.
